The Dragon Boat Festival has been going on for thousands of years. It began in ancient China. It has been around for a long time and has deep societal meanings. One of the most well-known stories about the Dragon Boat Festival is the one about Qu Yuan. Legend says that Qu Yuan was a brave artist and politician in ancient China. He threw himself into a river and drowned to show how much he loved his country and people. As a way to remember him, activities like pulling dragon boats, eating zongzi, hanging wormwood, and racing dragon boats became part of the Dragon Boat Festival, which is held every year on May 5th.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, the dragon boat race is one of the most well-known and often-told stories. A dragon boat is a long, skinny boat with a unique shape that can hold a lot of paddlers. A dragon boat race will be held in honor of Qu Yuan. The teams will wear matching outfits, wave their paddles, and row hard. This action not only tested the team's ability to work together, but it also gave people a taste of what life was like in the past.

Also, zongzi, which is a type of food, are a symbol of the Dragon Boat Festival. Zongzi is a classic dish made of sticky rice wrapped around different fillings. There are spicy, sweet, and even some traditional zongzi. People make zongzi by hand every year for the Dragon Boat Festival. They share and eat this wonderful traditional food, which is a sign of coming together and being blessed. At the same time, people hang wormwood and calamus leaves in front of their doors. This is thought to keep away evil forces and pray for peace.
